1. Cellular vs GPS-only watches
Smartwatches come in two kinds. GPS-only models (sometimes labelled Wi-Fi or Bluetooth) connect through your phone or a Wi-Fi network. Cellular models, often labelled LTE, have their own connection and can use a wearable plan.
A GPS-only watch can't use a cellular plan. Check the model name, the box or the watch's settings for "Cellular" or "LTE" before you choose a plan.
